MAY 2020 MEMBERSHIP UPDATE
Post date: May 22, 2020 08:30 AM
Thank you to all our members for your patience as we continue to work through the current requirements for reopening according to North Carolina’s guidelines and recommendations!
We still plan to open the pool May 30th.
We have outlined some of the changes that are necessary to stay within the North Carolina’s regulations and guidelines below. Please note, these are temporary, but they are necessary to open for our 2020 season! As we continue to see what tomorrow brings and as more changes are made, GSRC will also modify our regulations accordingly.
These changes will also be posted at the pool for your convenience.
Protecting our Membership and Staff
Our staff will be monitored daily at the beginning of their shift for any recent exposure to COVID 19 or fever. We will keep a log of this daily monitoring for everyone’s safety.
GSRC will keep a log of staff and members daily that have visited the pool. In the event there is an outbreak, we will notify everyone immediately.
The staff will be trained on cleaning expectations before the season begins. Our staff will be knowledgeable and ready to clean in accordance with the CDC guidelines and to ensure our facility is kept at a standard one would expect and most certainly within North Carolina’s requirements.
Changes to keep us, all of us, safe!
The below outlines what your GSRC board, State of North Carolina and Pool Professionals are putting in place according to the Phase 2 guidelines.
There will a maximum of 80 total members allowed at any given time until further notice (through Phase 2 for now, this may very well change).
The maximum number allowed in the pool at any given time is 36 total members.
The GSRC staff will monitor this daily to accommodate everyone as much as possible!
Appointments and Check-In Required
All members must make appointments in advance of attendance. Please watch for more information to come soon!
The front gate will be left open (front desk attendant will be sitting at the entrance to provide touch less check in.)
All members must check in at the front gate tent that will be set up throughout Phase 2. Members will be required to check in and will only be allowed in 2-hour sessions. After each session, the pool will be closed for 30 minutes to clean and sanitize shared areas. There will be a 3-hour session at the end of the day.
Regular Hours: 10-12, 12:30-2:30, 3-5, 5:30-8:30
During School: 3:00-5:00, 5:30-8:30
Sunday: 12:00-2:00, 2:30-4:30, 5:00-8:00
Pool Parties and Guests
Pool parties and member guests will not be permitted until further notice. Our focus is on allowing as many members as possible to use the pool through this first phase of restrictions.
The snack bar will be open on a limited basis on pool breaks only OR as staff is available to service our members.
The snack bar will be serving only prepackaged food.
Ice will be available upon request but reusable cups or any member utensils will not be allowed in the snack bar area. GSRC will provide disposable cups for membership should ice be needed.
No members will be allowed in the pool house until further notice. The pool house will be for staff only and will be cleaned for the staff appropriately.
The use of microwaves, community plates and/or napkins are not available until further notice from the pool house.
Bathrooms will be restricted to stalls and sinks that allow for social distancing. Some of the stalls and sinks will not be in use until otherwise noted. We ask that our membership respect these guidelines for their safety.
Water fountains are out of use until further notice.
Ping Pong/Recreational Area and Playground
Our games such as Ping Pong and Foosball will be closed until we receive the approval to reopen this area. The Playground, Volleyball and Basketball area will be closed as well. Again, following the guidelines put in place by the State of NC.
Lost and Found
Items that are left behind by members will be thrown away at the end of each day. We are unable to keep personal items in the pool house or any other communal area.
The kiddie pool will be closed until further notice. We are unable to find a way to keep social distancing an option in this small area.
The grills will still be on the deck but will not be available for member or staff use until further notice. We are unable to keep these sanitized and cleaned to regulation in between member use.
**All members will be receiving a survey regarding your family’s decision for the 2020 pool season. Please complete this when you have a moment so that we can plan adequately for the 2020 season. Thank you in advance!**
Membership dues are still due opening weekend with a 3-day grace period being given to all members. If you would like to pay your membership by credit card in advance of opening weekend, please contact us through email with the phone number to call to retrieve your credit card information. Checks can be mailed to our PO box or given to staff opening weekend. Cash is not being taken in advance this season due to Covid 19. If you plan to pay in cash, please see our staff opening weekend. If you need to make any other payment arrangements, please email us!
There have been several members that have regretfully informed us of their intent to freeze their membership this season. If you are unable to attend this season, our freeze fee option is still in effect. Please email us and we will be happy to provide you with this form to be completed. The freeze fee is 1/3 of member dues at $235.00. This must be paid in full by July 1, 2020. If you have questions related to this, please email us!
Thank you again to all our membership. We appreciate your dedication to the pool, patience with the board and continued support. We could not do this without you, thank you!
